Why Enroll at Blair

Blair is both a Fine Arts Academy and is also one of the schools in CFBISD offering Pre-K programming.  

• Fine Arts Academy-  Research shows that Arts Education boosts  performance. It also helps children develop skills such as communication, independence, creativity, and confidence! Students at Blair take Art, Dance, Music, and Theatre. Each class offers unique opportunities for students to succeed, grow, and shine.  There are also opportunities for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders to audition for ensemble groups.  Those ensembles collaborate for additional performances throughout the year.   
• Pre-K Academy-  Taught by our caring, certified educators, students are involved in thematic units that engage learners through developmentally appropriate activities. Mathematics, science, social studies and language arts are integrated to provide students with real life opportunities to read, write, and problem solve. Located just across the street from the Farmers Branch Recreational Center, Blair is an active part of the community's life. You can find us participating in events such as the Farmers Branch Christmas Tree Lighting, Martin Luther King Jr. Parade, singing at the local retirement community, and so much more!

The mission of Blair Elementary is to empower scholars to acquire life-long knowledge, skills, and values that prepare them to compete in the world marketplace while contributing to their community.

All of our teachers in CFBISD are certified in the core subject areas. All elementary teachers participated in Reading Academies and are trained in the Science of Teaching Reading. Teachers also receive specialized training in curriculum, reading strategies, differentiation, socio-emotional learning and much more.

Blair offers many ways for your child to connect beyond the traditional school day.  At Blair, students have the opportunity to participate in:

• Soaring Sounds Music Company
• Maker Space Art Club
• Continuous Motion Dance Company
• Jump Rope Team
• Fit Fifth Club
• Safety Patrol

The Fine Arts program can continue beyond elementary school with programming also being offered at the feeder middle school, Vivian Field Middle School, and Turner High School.  

There are two ways to get in:

1. If you are a new student and live in the attendance zone, you can move forward by completing online registration and follow the steps for online enrollment.
   
   Students may enroll for the current school year or can begin online registration for the new school year on April 1.
    
2. If you do not live in the attendance zone, you can apply now.
