Imagine Fine Arts Academy

Elementary art emphasizes the study of the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design through hands-on art projects. Artists will explore drawing, painting, sculpting, fiber arts, and digital art. Through a variety of techniques, artists will connect their art to the core subjects, their imagination, and the world around them. Through the process of creating, students have the opportunity to reflect and utilize problem-solving skills.

Elementary dance will introduce basic movement skills, fundamental dance vocabulary, and body awareness.  Dancers will explore many genres such as creative movement, modern, ballet, jazz, folk, hip hop and tap.  Movement exploration will be facilitated through improvisation, choreography, and performance opportunities.  Dance classes will also focus on strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance.  Students will experience interdisciplinary studies and critical thinking through dance history, real-world connections, and current technology. 

Elementary Music introduces both music literacy and music performance skills.  Students will be exposed to both Orff and Kodaly methodology as a vehicle for learning to sing, dance and play instruments as well as read musical notation, compose simple melodies and participate in movement to enhance kinesthetic learning and promote improvisational creativity and learned outcomes.   Students will have the opportunity to perform as individuals and in groups for both formal and informal presentations.

Elementary theatre will introduce students to the basic components of theatre skills.  Students will explore improvisation, narrative pantomime, technical theatre, theatre history, characterization and storytelling.  Students will be introduced to basic vocabulary and dramatic structure. Through learning about stories students will start to make connections between theatre and language arts creating cross-curricular opportunities. Theatre will spark creativity, imagination, and expression.
